Apple and quince are coolingly laced with mint and wintergreen (decidedly reminiscent of the corresponding Bernkasteler) but also

sweet black fruits and cocoa

since 1992 though the first commercial release was not until 1997

(from both the lower and upper portions)

Heitz Cellar, Cabernet Sauvignon Vintage:2016 Apple and quince are coolinglyHeitz's 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon is predominantly St. Helena fruit, but it includes grapes from other AVAs as well. With its cherry notes and some darker, more cassis like nuances, hints of dried herbs and dusty earth, it's pretty classic old school Cabernet. Medium to full bodied, it's linear, silky and fine, avoiding any sense of jammy excess.
